When your employees are working in several locations, intranet can be a perfect platform for your organization. This is why Stichting Maatschappelijk Werk Fryslan (the social work foundation of Fryslan, also known as SMWF) asked us to create one.
They wanted an online platform where information and news could be shared, their employees could apply for leave and everyone could start the conversation. And this should be responsive because SMWF is always on the road!
The employees of SMWF are active throughout Fryslan and are always on the road. This is why it’s crucial for them to take information everywhere. By making the social intranet of SMWF responsive, the intranet functions well on every screen.

SMWF wanted a social intranet that encourages interaction between colleagues. With a so-called ‘Facebook’ the employees can easily get more information about each other. This can be work related information like contact information and jobsite, but personal information like hobbies and interests too. Besides that, the employees can converse with each other online and share experiences and questions within the built-in forum.
ERP software AFAS is leading within the intranet system. This integration makes sure new employees automatically receive a mail with login details and the people who are no longer employed are automatically removed from the intranet. Also, internal vacancies can easily be published and leave or holidays can be applied for using the intranet.
On a regular basis SMWF welcomes new colleagues. To help them adopt the intranet ‘Joost’ is introduced. Besides that, the pages that are frequently used can be saved and important pages are highlighted in the dashboard. The shortcut to external programs makes it possible for the employees to easily get from intranet to Word, Excel and other programs.
